COVID-19 UPDATES

Last updated 2020-3-21

Here at Olean Family Chiropractic, we care about your health and well-being, both immediately and in the long term!

We are here to serve you and the office remains open to patients at this time.

That’s why we wanted to update you about what we are doing in the wake of the COVID-19 virus (aka Coronavirus) … and what YOU can do to protect yourself.

We’ve even created an Immune Boosting Checklist (see the image below), which contains science-backed steps you can take to improve your immune function AND avoid picking up any unwanted germs (including any colds, flu and stomach bugs that are going around).

As our patients know, chiropractic spinal adjustments have been shown to boost immune function because they serve to correct the spinal misalignments that cause neural dysfunction. Neural dysfunction stresses a body out, which may lead to a weakened immune system and lowered response to a foreign body, such as the cold virus. Organs that have a strong relationship with the immune system, such as the lymph nodes and the spleen, communicate with your brain and nerves, and if your nervous system isn’t functioning at an optimal level, a communication breakdown can occur. You can imagine what may happen next. Getting a chiropractic adjustment is a great place to start so you can get any spinal misalignment you may have corrected. Even one adjustment can bring about an immediate immune boost.

I also want to let you know that we are taking extra care to help protect our patients.

Here are some steps we are taking at Olean Family Chiropractic:

We ask that patients who are sick, not feeling well, or immunocompromised to please stay home. Let your body heal!
We are stepping up our cleaning schedule in the office.
Our office has cleaning spray and paper towels, disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer available as well as a place to wash your hands with soap.

Those over the age 65 seem to be more susceptible to the virus and we encourage anyone in that age group to take extra precautions.

We also encourage everyone to eat healthy (lots of vegetable and fruit, healthy fats and lean protein, and stay hydrated), continue moving and performing your workouts and getting fresh air. Regular activity, outdoors and healthy nutrition are all part of a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out! We are here for you!
